Product needs external heat to
burn. Extinguishing media: Water spray,
foam or powder. Do not use tetrachlore. Hazards: Non-combustible. Development
of hazardous combustion gases or vapours possible in the event of fire. Contain escaping vapours with water.
Prevent fire-fighting water from entering surface water or ground water. Protection: Wear full protective
gear and self-contained breathing apparatus. |
|
Accidental Release Measures |
Spillage: Recover by vacuum, or
broom and shovel. Flush area with water or neutralising solution as required. |

|
Stability/Reactivity |
Stability/shelf life: The product
is chemically stable if stored under cool dry conditions. Maximum 30 degrees
C and 70% relative humidity. Physical properties may change on storage;
re-test recommended periodically and in limit after three years. Product will react with alkaline
substances to generate heat. Aqueous solutions have corrosive effects on
metals including carbon steels, 304 stainless steel, zinc, copper, aluminium
and nickel alloys. This may result in the formation of hydrogen to produce
explosive mixtures. These solutions also decompose cement-based products and
attack some plastics such as nylon, polycarbonates, polyamides, polyImides or
acrylics. |
|
Toxicological Information |
Not animal tested. Dust can cause irritation to eyes
and skin. The ingestion of large amounts
causes irritation of the mucous membranes (stomach), coughing, pain,
vomiting. Inhalation causes irritation of the
respiratory tract. |
|
Ecological Information |
Biodegradation: Easily eliminable
>98% Aquatic toxicity: Harmful due to pH
shift. |
|
